Finalists will have their music heard LIVE at HORTON GRAND THEATRE, San Diego's Historic Theatre right in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp District!
This is not just a friendly competition, this is a show! Your friends and family can purchase tickets to watch the show and you never know who will be watching from the audience! Early Bird tickets will be $10!!!
How it works:
-Submit your music and lyrics.
-Our L.R.R. team will choose the top 15 semi-finalists.
-The top 15 songwriters will be invited to perform LIVE on stage in front of a judge's panel of industry pros!
-5 finalists will move on to round 3 to show their skills one last time.
-3 winners will be selected, but only 1 LRR SHOWCASE CHAMPION!
-Winners will recieve awesome prizes from our sponsors
-L.R.R. SHOWCASE CHAMPION will receive STUDIO TIME and much more!

Round 1: General Entry of original works!
Round 2: Top 15 semi-finalists at Horton Grand Theater for challenge #2!
Round 3: Top 5 finalists at Horton Grand Theater for challenge #3!
Rules and Regulations
1) Entries for initial selection must be entered by 11:59pm PST on Tuesday, April 5th.
2) 15 semi-finalists will be notified by Monday, April 11th.
3) Song(s) entered must be the contestant(s)’ original work.
4) Songwriters will be judged by a committee consisting of industry professionals and songwriters.
5) Judges will use five baseline criteria: originality, lyrics, hook, melody, and form.
6) Winners are responsible for division of prizes if there are cowriters involved with the winning song.
7) All submissions must be digital. No snail mail submissions will be accepted for this competition.
8a) Should a Songwriter selected as a Finalist choose not to perform at the Finals, their position will be filled by a runner up songwriter.
8b) Finalists will have 7 days from notification to submit an acceptance form for the finals.
9) Finalists will not receive payment for performing at the Showcase.
9b) Finalists are responsible for all travel expenses incurred to participate in the showcase.
10) Finalists will perform utilizing the sound system, keyboard, amps and microphones supplied.
11) Songwriters may enter more than one song for initial selection (round #1) to improve chances of winning a spot to the finals.
12) Songwriter must signify if they are not going to be the performer on the song and list the performer's information at initial entry.
13) You may not enter this competition if you are a signed writer or artist to a major publisher or label.

Q: Can I submit an instrumental song?
A: Yes
Q: Are lyric only submissions allowed?
A: Yes
Q: What genre is allowed to enter?
A: Any!
Q: Will I receive a review for my submission?
A: YES. You will receive a detailed review for your song by the L.R.R. Staff. All finalists will get a detailed review by each judge with a score sheet. We want to give you feedback so you know how to improve and what you are doing well!
Q: Will someone let me know why my song is not selected?
A: No
Q: If I'm selected for the finals, can I sing A cappella?
A: Yes
Q: What is the entrance fee?
A: $15 per song
Q: What do I get for my $15?
A: You get a song review and you get free admission to the final show regardless if you are a finalist.
Q: Do I have to perform my own song or can I have a singer/guitarist do it for me?
A: You can have a singer/musician represent your song. But you must indicate that fact upon initial entry and there is only 1 musician allowed per song.
Q: Can I submit a YouTube video for the initial selection round?
A: Yes. Make sure to submit the proper link. You will NOT be notified if your link does not work.
Q: Can I submit a link to my song for review?
A: Yes, but you must also submit a lyric sheet and be able to readily prove ownership if asked.
Q: Will my travel expenses be covered if I have to travel to compete as a finalist?
A: No. All participants are responsible for their own travel, lodging, and other expenses.
